Scope of Work: packaging design

Purus Pet is a branding and packaging design project for a new line of pet care products (shampoos, conditioners, wipes, etc.) for dogs and cats.
The project was completed in June 2025 over a period of 2 weeks.


Client: Purus Pet (a brand entering the pet care market).


Target audience: Pet owners (primarily dog and cat owners), aged 25–55, mostly women as decision-makers, who buy grooming products regularly and value quality, safety, and convenience.

The main challenge

In a crowded pet care market, the packaging needed to instantly communicate safety, natural ingredients, and ease of use – without being overly childish or medicinal. The client also wanted the design to work across multiple SKUs (shampoos, sprays, wipes) and look good both on shelf and online.

Calm, premium, crystal clear

Pet owners struggle with unclear ingredient lists, confusing instructions, messy packaging, and overly bright "chemical-looking" designs that feel untrustworthy.

We solved this with a beige + white palette, black text for maximum legibility (critical for small instructions and older owners), a very small green accent (competitors overuse green, so we use it sparingly only for "natural ingredient" signal), minimalist black icons (high contrast on beige for 3–5 second shelf scan), Pantone preparation (eliminates color shifts between batches — a common competitor issue), and white secondary background as a "clean zone" separating functional data from the emotional beige field.

The client received high-quality, print-ready packaging designs and produced a test batch with a local printer. The feedback: “Exactly what we needed – clear, premium, and pet-friendly.” The client was fully satisfied, and the packaging is ready for retail launch.
