Scope of Work: Packaging design and product line identity development
Target audience: Active, modern professionals, athletes, and individuals seeking clean, tobacco-free energy boosts or fast-acting nicotine alternatives.

We developed an advanced packaging design ecosystem for GARANT, launching two innovative product categories: Caffeine Energy Pouches and Nicotine Strips. Our goal was to break away from traditional tobacco design clichés and establish a high-impact, modern, and clean visual language.

The client needed to introduce two distinct, cutting-edge formats to the European market: a completely tobacco- and nicotine-free caffeine energy pouch, and an ultra-sleek nicotine strip pouch.

The design required clear tiering, high-energy visuals, and distinct flavor color-coding.

Key Challenges

  • Category Differentiation: Visually separating the zero-nicotine Energy Pouches from the high-strength Nicotine Strips while maintaining a cohesive master-brand identity.
  • Visual Constraints: Communicating rich profiles like Black Cherry and Ice Cool for the nicotine strips without using any fruit imagery, relying purely on abstract geometry and color theory.
  • Information Density: Balancing extensive compliance and product data (18+ warning, pouch counts, caffeine/nicotine strengths) with a clean, minimalist, high-impact aesthetic suitable for premium tactile printing finishes.
We created a structured visual system based on color psychology and clean geometric textures, positioning GARANT as a contemporary lifestyle brand.

Product line strategy

We defined a clear visual hierarchy for the two categories. The Caffeine Energy Pouches are positioned as a pure lifestyle supplement ("no tobacco no nicotine"), while the Nicotine Strips are framed as a premium, high-strength alternative, creating instant recognition on shelves and digital displays.

Color palette

Each flavor is assigned an intense, contrasting hue for quick shelf navigation. The Energy Pouches line features mint teal, peach pink, watermelon green, and vivid energy drink orange on a dark background. The Nicotine Strips line utilizes a palette anchored by Pantone 2202 Blue (Ice Cool), deep red (Black Cherry), and bright yellow (Extreme).

Logo and text structure

We utilized the official GARANT brand logo as the core anchor of the design. Below it, we implemented a simple, highly functional text structure. By establishing a clean typographic hierarchy, we logically organized all essential information—such as flavor names, pouch counts, and exact dosages—making the product details instantly understandable for the consumer.

Graphic effects: Gradient
and Halftone

To separate the two categories visually, we applied distinct graphic solutions. For the Caffeine Energy Pouches, we used a smooth radial gradient around the edges, emphasizing the concept of focused energy and highlighting the flavor. For the Nicotine Strips, we developed a dynamic halftone dot pattern at the top of the pouch that fades into the black background, adding a modern texture that compensates for the lack of fruit graphics.

Packaging design

The layouts were precisely engineered for printing with two optional premium finishes: a metallic foil shine or a convex tactile effect, allowing customers to feel the letters and structural patterns on the can and pouch surfaces.
The client received a cohesive, scalable, and strategically refined packaging system, ready for market launch.
